GMD Plastic & Leather Systems receives the Ecovadis Silver Award

GMD PLS receives the silver award from Ecovadis with a score of 56/100. This award places the Branch in the top 15% of companies evaluated by ECOVADIS in the “ Automotive parts and accessories and engine industry “ sector.

This evaluation also allows GMD PLS to pursue a continuous growth with the confidence of its customers, its shareholder and proudly shows the will to participate in a continuous and sustainable social development.

More precisely, GMD PLS was evaluated and obtained a notable score on four themes: environment, work and human rights, ethics, sustainable purchasing.

The „Environment“ score was obtained after evaluations focused on themes such as energy consumption, water, pollution and waste. The main GMD PLS assets highlighted by Ecovadis concern our policies and actions in terms of recycling and plastic waste management.

Concerning the evaluation of work and Human Rights: GMD PLS is constantly working on the improvement of working conditions, health and safety of employees. This results in health and safety training programs, a policy of respect for human rights, and a total commitment to the diversity and anti-discrimination charters.

GMD PLS is also committed to the fight against corruption and anti-competitive practices and ensures responsible information management, mainly through policies already established.

GMD PLS has also been evaluated on the choice of its suppliers and their efforts in terms of CSR and purchasing policies.

Obtaining the Ecovadis silver award allows GMD PLS to reaffirm its position as a responsible company and its role as a committed and responsible partner to its customers, employees and suppliers. The challenge now is to integrate more recycled material in its production and to promote lighter vehicles.

Ecovadis is the world’s first independent platform that objectively evaluates companies‘ practices in terms of environmental, social, ethical and responsible approaches. The 21 questions or criteria are based on international CSR standards such as the principles of the Global Compact, the conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the ISO 26000 standard and the CERES principles.
