GMD Plastic & Leather Systems participates at the first edition of FRANCE DESIGN WEEK LOIRE VALLEY from the 1st to the 20th September 2020

France Design Week is an annual and global event that aims to promote design among professionals and to sensitize the general public to its practice, by linking the French design world and honoring all fields of design.

GMD Plastic & Leather Systems is proud to be associated to this event to promote innovation through design – a vector of economic and environmental development.

To illustrate its know-how, the Branch will present a “Concept” version of an interior door panel produced and assembled by Eurostyle Systems plants.

This door panel “Concept”, is presented in a version where the medallion and the armrest have been modified compared to the series version, and prototyped in innovative technologies.

For Isabelle VALENTIN – Chief Technology Officer who supervised the design choices “The use of denim, for example, was motivated by the return to more virtuous consumption: product durability, more environmentally friendly production, and of course made in France. This desire to use recycled materials quickly became a necessity in order to participate in the circular economy. For example, the Natural Fiber Polypropylene process provides structure and acoustic properties, as well as being lighter. » Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

Sébastien FRAUDET Lead designer innovation, will speak at the workshop on Friday, September 11th around the topic “DESIGN AND MATERIALS: MOVING MATERIALS TO MOVE MATERIALS” to explain how the material is often the starting point and sometimes the end of a creative work.

For Sébastien FRAUDET: “Design is first of all a way to tell a story and to create an emotion at the view or touch of the object. Design is a leverage to incite new visions, to propose new materials, rather ecological, lighter, more intelligent (smart surfaces) in order to have for the future, more environmentally friendly vehicles. The formal language of design mixes new technologies, the control of volumes and the play of light to conceive the interior of vehicles because design is omnipresent through its style, the materials used, the on-board technology, the perceived quality and the comfort felt to offer tomorrow’s more eco-responsible products. »
